“The Lutheran” is looking for people in Lutheran schools (employed or voluntary, perhaps as teachers, other educators, support staff, principals, board chairs, maintenance, etc), who have come to their role from a markedly different background. Perhaps they were a highly paid executive or they may have run a company, a pub, or a farm, etc, and gave that occupation up to serve the church in some way. It may be that they felt called to the change or that they think God has used their ‘former life’ to prepare them for their current service.
We are looking to find a broad range of people from around the LCANZ – women, men, laypeople and ordained, older, younger, who have navigated such a change. For example, among our pastors are those who have worked as a glaciologist, government statistician, farmer, funeral director, cattle show photographer, music therapist, gun shop owner, IT business owner, GP etc.
Also, does your school community have Olympic representatives (or those who tried out for the Olympics) among their students, old scholars, or staff?
