Southern Grampians Shire Schools Reconciliation Walk
This year, our School Captains and I were privileged to participate in the inaugural Southern Grampians Community Schools Reconciliation Walk 2025. This walk was a powerful display of unity between local schools, the Windamara Corporation, and various community organisations across the Southern Grampians. The walk symbolises our collective commitment to reconciliation, respect, and a shared future. Following the walk, student leaders presented their schools’ personalised acknowledgement statements to the assembly, reflecting this year’s poignant theme, “Bridging Now to Next.”

Produce to Platter!
Each semester, our school proudly celebrates a major event that brings our community together through the joy of food and learning. Thanks to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and our amazing parent volunteers the classes from Years 3-6 were able to make a lunch using various ingredients including produce from our very own veggie garden. The highlight of the day was sitting down together and sampling the delicious food.

Tarrington Time and Great Explorations
We take immense joy in welcoming families from our local community to participate in our Tarrington Time and Great Explorations programs. Each term, our dedicated Junior Primary and Specialist staff, with support from our Wellbeing team, organise engaging and interactive exploration sessions tailored for preschool learners. Our Foundation students also have the special opportunity to host local kindergarten groups, offering a variety of enriching learning experiences. These programs not only foster educational connections but also provide valuable opportunities for young learners and their parents to socialise and engage with our vibrant learning community. It’s always a pleasure to see new faces at these events!

The Great Outdoors!
In Term 3 the Year 5/6 class set off to Kangaroobie, on the Great Ocean Road, for a three-day outdoor adventure camp.
Kangaroobie Farm Stay, located on the Gellibrand River at Princetown, offered students a wide range of bush and farm activities, including bushwalks, beach games, spooky night walks, canoeing, a very wet and muddy obstacle course, survival games, and hands-on farmyard experiences. A highlight was the lively bush dance on our final night.

Catering for our Senior Citizens
Each term we have the great pleasure of witnessing our exceptional PSFA Catering team and a dedicated group of parent volunteers in action as they work together to provide fabulous lunch dining experiences for our local Senior Citizens. With great pride, we watch our Year 6 students serve and interact with the delightful Seniors community in our Hall. In preparation for each catering event, numerous volunteers assist behind the scenes, sourcing ingredients and preparing key elements of the meal. This term’s flourless almond and orange cake dessert, served with homemade chocolate sauce, were a sensational hit! I am continually inspired by the generosity, love, and spirit of service that thrives in our community.
