Mambourin Campus On-site Learning Begins
Term 1 of 2025 marked an exciting milestone for Good News Lutheran College, with the official commencement of on-site learning at the new Mambourin Campus. To celebrate the occasion, parents were invited to enjoy complimentary coffee and muffins at the Little Growling Café, located just down the road from the campus. This casual gathering offered families a wonderful opportunity to connect and form new friendships within the growing Mambourin community. Prep students were welcomed with special GNLC teddy bears to commemorate their very first day of school—a keepsake to mark the beginning of their educational journey.

College Commencement Service
This year’s College Commencement Service was a significant celebration, bringing together students, staff and families from both the Tarneit and Mambourin campuses. Approximately 2,000 people gathered for this special event, where academic excellence was recognised with the presentation of the Dux and Proxime Accessit awards. New staff and student leaders were also formally installed, setting a positive and exciting tone for the year ahead.

ALWS Walk My Way
On Sunday 30 March, people from Lutheran schools and congregations across Melbourne gathered at Good News Lutheran College Tarneit Campus to take part in the ALWS Walk My Way event. Participants chose either a 3km or 12km walk along the scenic Werribee River trail, raising funds to support children affected by poverty. Before setting out, walkers gathered at the Community Hub, enjoying a lively atmosphere with coffee, food stalls, and student performances.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, more than $19,000 was raised—enough to support 761 vulnerable children in countries including Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Burundi, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Ukraine. It was inspiring to see individuals from across the city unite in a shared mission to bring hope and help to those in need.

Harmony Week
From 17–23 March, Good News Lutheran College embraced the vibrant spirit of Harmony Week, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our college community. Students had the opportunity to proudly showcase their heritage by dressing in their cultural dress or wearing orange. The weeks activities included creating handprint murals, collaborative art projects at lunch, the energetic Harmony Cup soccer tournament, and a friendly Staff vs Students basketball match.
A lunchtime concert was another highlight, featuring an array of student-led cultural performances, including Bollywood dancing and Tinikling—the national dance of the Philippines. The celebrations culminated with the Harmony Fair. Families enjoyed delicious offerings from food trucks, thrilling amusement rides, and cultural student performances. Harmony Week served as a meaningful celebration of the cultural diversity and shared values that underpin our College community.
