Shaping the Future of Education

Shaping the Future of Education: Horizon Three Learning

How might we build the new learning ecosystem together?

The current Education system was developed and implemented in America around 200 years ago. It revolutionised the way children and young people learned and prepared them well for their world. Now the world has shifted significantly and children and young people require a different set of skills to thrive in their world and need to be prepared for that differently. This article unpacks what some of those skills are and talks about horizon thinking, the need to look further ahead  than the short cycles we often use for strategic planning and how we must do the work of redesigning schooling so that it is fit for purpose far into the future. We cannot leave this work to others. Read more about what the author have to say in this article series. You can find the whole series here, a number of guest authors have written for the blog: https://www.gettingsmart.com/series/h3-learning/
