Connect is an accreditation, professional learning and formation course that provides staff new to Lutheran education with the opportunity to experience and explore the spirituality, life and practice of the school or ECS. It provides all staff, the opportunity to reflect on and explore spirituality, theology, their role and their contribution to Lutheran education.
Connect provides opportunities for participants to:
- explore, examine and identify the key observable features of Lutheran education culture in Lutheran ECSs, schools and classrooms
- identify and critically reflect on formational learning experiences and their potential capacity to nurture the culture of Lutheran schools and ECSs
- engage with the Lutheran theological concepts of grace, creation and community to consider the ways in which theology intersects with school life or early years education
- examine the ways that contemporary, social and cultural issues influence the context of Lutheran education
- consider the implications of their learning for their role in a Lutheran school or early childhood services.
Structure
Connect provides a blended learning environment with face to face sessions supported with online engagement. The course consists of the following sessions that are equivalent to three days of learning:
- Induction (online and/or face to face – 2 hours)
- Session 1 (face to face school delivery and equivalent to 1/2 day)
- Session 2 (face to face school delivery and equivalent to 1/2 day)
- Session 3 (face to face school delivery and equivalent to 1/2 day)
- Session 4 which includes the development of the ePortfolio (face to face regional delivery and equivalent to 1 day)
