Last week, April 30-May 2nd, LEVNT hosted the LEA Ministry Accreditation workshop. The sessions were facilitated by Regional and LEA staff alongside experienced serving school chaplains. This 3-day event brought together new chaplains from around the country to explore 4 topics key to their work in a Lutheran school/ECS.
- Context of Lutheran Education explored the history of Lutheran schools in Australia, their relationship to the Church and State, and how the 2 Kingdoms idea helps us navigate complex scenarios.
- Worship explored the theology and practice of worship and devotions in a Lutheran school and resources that are available to support that.
- Pastoral care investigated the frameworks for pastoral care, relationships with wellbeing teams and referral. It also reflected on the importance of self-care.
- Learning explored the Free to Flourish framework, CSCF and pedagogy in a Lutheran school.
Participants built a community of learning, and sessions included times for conversation, reflective writing and worship.
