On Saturday, 22 June we officially unveiled the new LEVNT Strategic Direction, which is the culmination of effort and an inspiring day of collegiality.
The commitment to grow and work together to further the success of Lutheran education in the Region started with a devotion by Gary Jewson titled “My Father’s Touch”.
We explored education with Kim Powell, who spoke about how we can develop a clear vision for learning in a changing educational landscape.
Kim Powell said: “We discussed how schools who are able to do this can not only articulate their beliefs about students and learning in detail but they are specific about what people will therefore see happening in their schools and about what people will not see happening in their schools. The work those schools then focus on is in making sure that this vision is lived out in every decision that is made around learning. Our challenge is to make learning authentic so that students are engaged in experiential pedagogies that cause them to work on real problems through meaningful project, with authentic end products that are community focused.”
Throughout the day we also explored governance challenges with guest presenters from Moores Legal, and finished with finance training by Lester Kerber.
We were pleased to see our CLE members attending and were encouraged by the support and contribution of our Principals and School Council Chairs.
