Strategic thinking must be purposeful and demands full attention. For this reason, the LEVNT Executive and Education Officers, together with two CLE Board Members, relocated for the day to the 24th floor of the Whitehorse Tower in Box Hill.
Our facilitator for the day was Dennis Mulherin, Executive Director of Lutheran Education Queensland. Dennis led us through the process of ensuring Mission and Vision Statement alignment with LCA and LEA strategic plans. In groups, a SWOT analysis was conducted, which included feedback from the recent surveys conducted with Council Chairs, Principals and Business Managers.
Then the hard thinking occurred as the LEVNT team worked to identify the three to four most important changes for LEVNT schools over the next three to five years using the weakness, opportunities and threats previously identified.
Our facilitator, through critical questioning, helped us to refine and develop our thinking as we engaged in strong discussion to develop the draft document.
Further work needs to be invested in this process, which will be communicated in the weeks ahead.
